DR. JAMES (JIM) THOMSON LUNN November 3, 1923 - October 9, 2016 Dr. James (Jim) Thomson Lunn passed away peacefully, on his terms, at the family home on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the age of 92 years. Remaining to miss Jim are his children, Alasdair and Diane, Iain and Heather and Calum and Elizabeth; grandchildren, Peter, Robert, David, Mark, Cara and Helen; and great-grandchildren, Maria, Michaela, Craig, Hailey, Layla and Lucia. He will also be missed by his many two legged and four legged friends. Born to Margaret and Robert Lunn, Jim was raised in Edinburgh, Scotland. He met his beloved Sadie while studying medicine and they were married on January 3, 1953. Upon completion of his degree they moved to Newfoundland to begin his practice and their life in Canada. Jim's Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church, 61 Picardy Place, Winnipeg. Which will be followed by a celebratory reception in the Irish Association of Manitoba hall, 654 Erin Street, Winnipeg from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 0R3, or the charity of one's choosing.
