CARL FRIDRIK JOHNSON 1927 - 2016 In his 89th year, Carl Fridrik Johnson died peacefully on October 8, 2016 at Misericordia Place. Remembered with love by his wife of 64 years, Edith; children, Cheryl (Douglas) and Susan (Bruce); grandchildren, Signy (Derek) and Tegan, of whom he was so very proud. Carl is also survived by his sisters, Valdine and Rosemary. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Olina; his brothers, Sigmar and Harold; and his sisters, Laura, Sigga, and Margaret. Carl was a man of few words but a heart of gold, always willing to help whenever and however he could. He would give you the shirt off his back or the last dollar out of his pocket. He loved children, a good book, and animals - especially the many pets that shared his home over the years. He was a man of many talents, who lived life on his own terms. Thank you to the caring staff at the Misericordia Health Centre and Misericordia Place for their kindness and compassion. Also, thank you to all who stopped by to visit with Carl - he really enjoyed these shared moments. As per Carl's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal funeral service. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Should you wish to honour Carl's memory, a donation may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, or the Misericordia Health Foundation.
