AUDREY MENSFORTH (nee WIKEEM) Peacefully on October 10, 2016, at Golden Links Lodge, Audrey passed away at the age of 88, with her family by her side. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Maggie (Terry), and Andrea (Gerry). She was predeceased by her son Michael (Liz). She will be missed by many friends and relatives throughout Canada, US and England. Audrey worked for the Winnipeg School Division and the Adult ESL Centre until her retirement. Audrey started her travelling with Dad (Jerry Mensforth) to the Yukon and South Africa, where Maggie was born. Later in life, she travelled to Australia, South Africa, the Mediterranean, England and the US. She went on three yoga retreats to Mexico, and travelled to Kenya with her daughters for her 60th birthday. Mom was a unique lady in that she was always 20 years younger than her chronological age. Mom enjoyed her time with the Unitarian church, being a member for many years. Audrey enjoyed the WSO Pops series and volunteering with Prairie Theatre Exchange, Shakespeare in the Ruins and Victoria General Hospital. She was a whiz at Scrabble, Bridge, Cribbage, cryptograms and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed blueberry picking, swimming, hiking and the fresh air at Big Whiteshell Lake where the family had a cottage for many years. A special thank you to the staff at Golden Links Lodge. A celebration of Audrey's life will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Unitarian Church, 603 Wellington Cres., Winnipeg, MB. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to D'Arcy's A.R.C. and / or Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue.
