Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH DOUGLAS GRAY Kenneth Douglas passed away peacefully on October 5, 2016 with his loving family by his side, in the Palliative Care unit of the Pinawa Hospital. Ken was predeceased by his mother and father, Doug and Rosalie Gray, and brother Darryl (Donna). Ken was born March 27, 1939 in Virden, MB. Following graduation Ken spent five years in the R.C.A.F. Ken married Carol May Mitchinson in Saskatoon, June 30, 1962. Following his discharge from the Air Force Ken was employed by MTS in Portage La Prairie and was blessed with a daughter, Deborah Isabelle in 1964. Ken then moved to Pinawa and was employed by Atomic Energy of Canada and in 1974 Ken relocated to Glace Bay, N.S. to work in the A.E.C.L. heavy water Plant. In 1982 Ken moved to Ft. McMurray where he was employed by Suncor Inc. Ken married Doreen Fortier in 1984 and they resided in Ft. McMurray until his retirement in 1998 and moved back to Pinawa. Ken enjoyed fishing, curling and played a great game of pool. His pride included his garden, his '64 Ford Thunderbird and his daughter Deb. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Doreen, daughter Deb, and brother Arvyn (Tina). Ken will be sadly missed by numerous stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, family and friends. Ken's family would like to thank the staff of the Palliative Care unit of the Pinawa Hospital and to Brenda Popple for all her help and guidance. A private family service was held at the Pinawa Cemetery on October 8, 2016. A special thanks to Katy Popple for the beautiful picture arrangement and her amazing song she sang at Ken's service. Thanks to Pastor Rob Murray for his support and to those who sent flowers and cards of sympathy. Following the service a come and go reception was held at Ken and Doreen's home in Pinawa.
