Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD S. (DON) NOLIN Don passed away on October 14, 2016, at the age of 82, after a long fought battle with heart disease. He is survived by his most cherished children and grandchildren, son Mark and his wife Val and their children, Stephanie and Michael; son Robert and his wife Heather and their children, Samantha and Megan, of Calgary; daughter Kelly-Ann and her husband Todd Turkington and their son Nicholas, all of Victoria. He is also survived by his brother Claude (Flore) and sisters, Lillian Ramsay, Aline Carriero (Sam), of Winnipeg and Florence MacLeod, of Victoria, brother-in-law Paul Perreault (Barb) and special nieces, nephews and cousins. Don was also fortunate to have many close long term friendships in Victoria, Tsawwassen and Winnipeg. Don was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Simone (Perreault) Nolin, on December 8, 2014 and his sister Doris Van Ryckeghem, in 2013. Don was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba, on June 30, 1934, the eldest son of Edmond and Leonida (Faucher) Nolin. He lived in the St. Boniface/St. Vital areas of Winnipeg. He attended Provencher Collegiate in St. Boniface. Don and his family relocated to Victoria in 1980. During his life, Don volunteered for both the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and the Alzheimer's Society of Victoria. A memorial service will be held for Don at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 753 Burnside Road West (at the corner of Burnside Road West and McKenzie Avenue) in Victoria, BC on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Refreshments to follow in the church hall. Flowers are gratefully declined. If one should so wish, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Alzheimer's Society of Victoria will be very much appreciated.
