ROBERT (BOB) BURKITT December 24, 1928 October 15, 2016 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, Bob Burkitt on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the age of 87 years. Surviving Bob are his children, Pat (Bill) Emile, Ricki Walker, Bob (Jo-Ann) Burkitt, and Sandy Burkitt; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene Jamieson; and brothers, George (Joan) Burkitt and Ron (Sherri) Burkitt. Dad loved soaking up the sun, reading the newspaper, and people watching. Whether it be in Australia, Arizona, California, Mexico, Osoyoos, BC or right here, at The Forks and Birds Hill Park. Dad could start a conversation with anybody, anywhere. His face would light up whenever he saw small children, wanting to say hi and give them a high five. He also loved dogs, big and small, and they loved him too. For the past 22 months Dad resided at Lions Manor and made an incredible amount of friends there. Friends of all ages were drawn to Dad's smile, sense of humour and friendliness at Lions Manor, and they all brightened Dad's days. We are so appreciative of the kindness and love they showed him. A private family celebration will be held at a later date. Special thanks to the staff at Lions Manor for their wonderful and compassionate care of Dad.
