It was with great sadness that I learned of Gary's passing. Please accept my sincere condolences. It was an honor to have known Gary as a neighbour and fellow Airman at CFS Sydney, NS and again as a fellow student during officer training at CFB Kingston. I will always remember with fondness, Gary's ready smile and his willingness to lend a hand or provide some sage advice to us "younger" guys and gals. I know he will be missed. - Posted by: Winston Sheppard (Friend) on: Oct 24, 2016

I worked with Gary in Air Command HQ as part of DCOS TIS. We had coffee almost every morning when we weren't on the road to some distant place. He was a man of humour and full of fun. No matter how bad things got he could put a grin on our faces. One time I mentioned I was looking for some cheap goose decoys and inside a week he showed up with some he had found at a garage sale. I still have them. What a loss you must be suffering. You have my heartfelt condolences we have lost a wonderful man and a friend. - Posted by: A J Taylor (Friend and comrade ) on: Oct 24, 2016

I was fortunate to belong to the same morning coffee group as Gary. Gary had a "keen sense of humour" - he had the ability of getting people to talk about an issue & then "sitting back" & listening to them, injecting some "spice or humour" to the conversation. The coffee group truly misses Gary. He was a kind & sincere person. Our society is a better society because of Gary. The coffee group conveys our deepest sympathy to Gary's immediate & extended families. Art. B. - Posted by: Gary Douglass (friend) on: Oct 24, 2016
