RICHARD JOHN WILK Suddenly on Friday, October 14, 2016 Richard passed away at the age of 70 years. Surviving Rick are his wife Darlene; son Trent (Georgina); grandsons Tyler and Parker; son Trevor; and granddaughters Mikaela and Sara; siblings Joan McCulloch, Jackie Jackson, Vicky Beauregard, Marge (Stuart) Scott, Wendy (Tom) Lakie and Doug (Pat) Wilk; in-laws Susan and Sandy Walker and Alan and Bonnie Chomica; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mae Wilk. On May 27, 1946 Rick was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was a wonderful and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family dearly. Rick was an honest, hardworking man who always had time for everyone. He was always there to lend a hand and never asked for anything in return. To provide for his family, Rick started his own business, Star Sportswear in 1982, and worked there up to the day he died. He loved his work and enjoyed meeting customers and friends every day. He always made time to sit and talk with people. His priority was his family first, then business. He will be so greatly missed by his family and friends. Rick's Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue, Winnipeg, with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano, presider. We are so sorry to hear of Rick's passing. The news came so suddenly and totally unexpected. We had just seen Rick at the shop and as always greeted with a hug and a hand shake. Even though we live 70 miles away, whenever we were near the shop we had to stop in, if only to say hello get a hug and see what he had to offer us on special that day. He was always so very happy to see customers or friends come in, he kept us as customers and created great friends. The loss is for each one of us and for everyone who crossed paths with him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Trent, Trevor, Darlene and the entire family. There are few if any words to express the sadness we feel for their loss. Glad I got a hug that last day we saw each other, Dale and I will miss you Rick. - Posted by: Terry Neplyk (friend and customer) on: Oct 26, 2016

Rick was an honest, hardworking man who always had time for everyone. Always smiling, laughing and loved to joke around. A true Gentleman, a great "Guy", and my pleasure and honour to call him my friend. While life takes us down different paths at different times we remember the friends that touched our heart. Rick was one of them. Our thoughts are with you all. - Posted by: Darren Balzer (Friend) on: Oct 25, 2016

Dear Darlene and family Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all at the trying time. Rick was such a wonder and friendly person. When Jarett was just a little tike Rick made him a Manitoba Street Rod Association jacket with the vehicle being a 1994 stroller, and bright and colorful pants. He is now in gods hands where he keep watch over you all. Rest in peace Rick you will be missed - Posted by: Wilf, Alison & Jarett Kornelsen (friends) on: Oct 24, 2016

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. We have fond memories of Rick and his wonderful kind family. We are part of the Fabulous 50's Ford Club. In 1992 our son was born and on our way home from the hospital we stopped by Rick and Darlene's shop to show off our beautiful baby boy. We left with a wonderful Montreal Canadiens touque and scarf that our son, at 24, has kept and cherished all this time. Rick was a kind soul and we will miss him dearly. Our condolences to his family. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: William and Tanis Wilson (Friends) on: Oct 23, 2016
