AUDREY ELAINE CORNER June 25, 1936 - October 13, 2016 It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Audrey Corner, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend on October 13, 2016 in Victoria, BC at the age of 80 years. Audrey will be missed and forever loved by her devoted husband Don, of 57 years: daughters: Brenda (Jim) and grand-puppy Murphy, Donna (Bill) and grandchildren Ben and Amanda, kid brother Garth (Brad and Derek), sister Carol, and brother Jack (deceased). Audrey found the love of her life, Don and wed August 29, 1959 and their adventure began. Audrey was always a strong willed and independent woman who greatly impacted everyone she met in her life. Audrey excelled in sports from badminton to golf and enjoyed her many bridge groups over the years. She served on various community and condo projects and her tenacity and drive led to their overall success. Audrey and Don enjoyed 25 years of retirement. Winter vacations in Texas and California gave them lasting memories. Audrey made life long friends wherever their journey took them. Audrey and Don moved 27 months ago to Nanaimo, BC from their long time Winnipeg home, where Audrey found her paradise. The ocean, beaches, mountains, wildlife and greenery delighted her everyday. Brenda and Jim moved to Nanaimo shortly thereafter. Having Brenda and Murphy close by meant the world to her. Audrey was a loving, compassionate woman whose inner beauty is reflected in her wonderful daughters, Brenda and Donna. She was the rock and foundation of her family values. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. There are so many memories to share and stories to relate. Audrey loved us all whole heartedly and would want us to laugh, smile and remember her as she lived her life. We are connected so deeply, that time nor space will ever divide us. A Celebration of Life was held Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in Nanaimo at the family residence, where numerous friends, relatives and neighbours paid their respects in Audrey's honour. Flowers are graciously declined. If you so choose, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Society or any Animal Rescue Shelter.
