MARIA de LURDES SOARES MOREIRA Maria de Lurdes Soares Moreira, 76, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at the Riverview Health Centre. After a two year battle with lung cancer, Maria passed away peacefully, with her son at her bedside. She will be missed tremendously by her husband Horacio; her son Roger; her daughter-in-law Sandra; and the pride of her life, her grandchildren Susana and Tomas. Despite the many health battles throughout her life - three strokes, two heart valve replacements, respiratory infection, and a tracheotomy, cancer came along and took Maria away from her loved ones. She will truly be missed by many family members and friends throughout Portugal and Canada. The family would like to thank the medical staff at Riverview 3E Palliative care, Dr. Dawe and Nurse Debbie from Manitoba CancerCare, as well as her physician Dr. Da Silva for the care, kindness and understanding. Vigil Prayers 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street North. Interment will take place at a later date in Aveiro, Portugal.
