JOSH CALNITSKY Josh Calnitsky passed away unexpectedly in his sleep, on August 22, 2016. A much loved son, grandson, nephew, cousin and best friend of many. His passing forever leaves a great void in the heart of his mother, Nancy Calnitsky. He also leaves to mourn, his father Mohamed Moustarzak, of Vancouver and his grandmother Zohra Moustarzak, of Winnipeg. He will be deeply missed by his many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him and will always remember him. He was predeceased by his adoring Baba, Ida Calnitsky. Josh was born on December 23, 1991. He attended the Gray Academy of Jewish Education and then continued on to graduate from Grant Park High School. Josh loved life and had many passions. He loved music and cherished his pets, Brooklyn and Sami. But his greatest passion was for his friendships. Once you were Josh's friend, you were his friend forever. He supported and encouraged his friends, and was beloved by them in return. He had a genuinely sweet nature and a pure heart. Josh left us too soon. Thanks go to the many wonderful family and friends who gave support and love at this difficult time. Special thanks go to Sheri Oberman, Carla Paul, Corinne Hasid, Ayen Apollo, David Calnitsky and Tara Calnitsky. Thank you also to Rabbi Alan Green for his guidance and for officiating at services held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Chesed Shel Emes, with interment at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ed Calnitsky, Phil Calnitsky, Brent Calnitsky, David Calnitsky, Neil Schipper, Nathan Mowchun, Jonathon Brick and Alex Shmelov. Donations in his memory may be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society or to a charity of your choice.

My sympathies and heartfelt love go out to Nancy and all the Calnitsky family in the loss of Josh. I remember him as a sweet boy with a shy smile. When he was younger, we would interact at family gatherings, and I wish now that I'd gotten to know him better as a young man. His friends and family are so lucky to have had him in their lives, and he will be remembered forever. - Posted by: Janet Minuk Wees (cousin) on: Oct 29, 2016
