Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ANN (BUNNY) GERALDINE FITZGERALD On Monday, October 17, 2016 Mary Ann passed away at Oakview Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 89 years. On August 23, 1927 Mary Ann Geraldine Fitzgerald (Bunny) was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. She was the only child of Nonie and Gerald Fitzgerald. Mary Ann was predeceased by her parents and her life mate LeRoy Johnson (Hank). Weyburn was where Mary Ann grew up and became an accomplished competitive equestrian rider. She moved to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba and after graduation returned to Saskatchewan to work for the Regina Leader Post as a reporter. In the early 1970s she came back to Winnipeg as a reporter for the Free Press, retiring in 1992. She and Hank travelled extensively through Britain, Europe, Russia, Africa and Asia. Summers were spent in Carlyle, Saskatchewan at the family cottage. Mary Ann will be missed by family and friends. Mary Ann's Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in St. James Anglican Church, 195 Collegiate Street, Winnipeg. Met Mary Ann on a few of her trips to Ireland over the years with Hank and once in Paris some years ago while they were on 'tour'. She was always good fun and great company. As a family my father (her cousin) always kept in touch but we lost contact after his death in 2012. I phoned her with the news and she seemed to not understand who I was talking about.
