Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNICE EDNA BAUER October 7, 1930 - October 25, 2016 Bernice passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital on October 25, with sons, Dave, Doug and daughter-in-law Jan at her side. She was 86. She is survived by son Doug (Jan), daughter Bev (Jim) and son Dave. She also leaves to mourn, grandchildren, David (Erin) and Andy, from Calgary, AB, Kaylyn and Mark (Britney), from Winnipeg; and great-grandchildren, Lexi and Logan. Also left is brother-in-law Bill (Dorothy), of Sault Ste. Marie, ON. Also remaining are many nephews and nieces in BC, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, USA, Germany and Australia. Bernice was predeceased by husband Harry; son Robert; parents, William and Clara Dorscht, of Waterloo, ON; sisters, Ruby, Shirley; and brother Bill. Bernice was the last remaining member of her Dorscht family from the Kitchener / Waterloo, ON area. She was born in Waterloo, ON, where she lived and grew up with her family. She worked in a few factories in the area and in her youth, loved to attend dances with her friends, where she met her future husband Harry. They married and lived for a short while in Kitchener. Harry joined the military and they moved to Angus for a little while before moving to a house on the military base at Camp Borden near Barrie, ON. All of her children were born in Ontario and then moved when they were transferred to Winnipeg in 1965. She lived in Winnipeg until present. She worked at Reliance Products in the accounting area for about 20 years, until retiring. We spent many happy days and weekends and have great memories about spending time with family at the Dorscht family cottage on Connestoga Lake and with the Bauer family around Hanover, both in Ontario. Mom also liked to cook and we always remember family gatherings at her home in Winnipeg, where she would prepare way too much food, but all so good. The family would like to thank hospital staff on floor 4 and in the ER. A special thank- you to her son Dave for the caring of our Mom for the last several years. Cremation will take place by Cropo Funeral Chapel and she will be laid to rest at Brookside Cemetery on Friday, November 4 at 2:00 p.m. in a graveside ceremony for family and friends.
