GERARD (GERRY) LUC DUCLOS 1950 - 2016 Peacefully with family by his side, Gerry Duclos passed away on October 28, 2016. Throughout his entire life, Gerry was an honest hard working man. He met his wife, Rachelle Trottier, while working in the nickel mines near Sudbury, ON. The couple moved back to Poplar Point where Gerry farmed with his dad, and eventually took over the family farm where they raised their three children. Gerry was active in his community, always available to lend a helping hand. More than anything, Gerry loved to spend time with his family and could often be found at the rink watching his grandchildren play hockey. Gerry leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rachelle, his children, Danielle Lamoureux (Joe), Jacqueline Johnson (Bradley), Michel (Erin), his four grandchildren, Josh and Jordan Lamoureux, Ashton and Kayden Duclos. Also mourning his loss are his eight siblings Alice Therrien (Ray), Roger (Roselyne), Normand (Denise), Monique, Gilbert, Jeannette Gelmich (Gene), Gabrielle Mackintosh (Alec), and Marianne Leskiw (Bill) as well as a vast number of loving extended family and long-time friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Cécile Duclos. The family extends special thanks to the many doctors, nurses and aides who cared for Gerry over the past year. A service will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, on Wednesday, November 2 at 2:00 pm., with viewing one half hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerry's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada - Manitoba Chapter.
