I just recently heard about Marlene's passing. It's so sad because she worked so hard to become a doctor and make her family proud. What comforts me is that there are many photos and videos online of her doing what she loved most. - Posted by: Kira Lake (good friend) on: Jun 19, 2025

I went to school with Marlene in George Waters and St. James. We were usually in the same crowd. I was so saddened to hear of her tragic passing. She will always be remembered to me as a sweet, quiet, shy girl who was usually giggling. So sad and shocking, you never expect to hear of these kinds of things with people so close in age and with whom you know. Condolences to her close friends and family. - Posted by: Ashley (School) on: Nov 14, 2016

I had such an amazing time that night thanks to her, she introduced me to her friends and brother and made me feel so welcome. I met Marlene two years ago when she moved to Montreal, she was this feisty and funny young woman with a huge heart. Every time we spoke she would bare this beautiful genuine smile and had this infectious laugh that always made the room light up. Marlene had this beautiful way of seeing the world and held herself in such an eloquent manner, she also spoke of Winnipeg her home and how much she loved her city. She recently revisited Montreal and we had the opportunity to share some laughs and stories prior to her returning home, I am forever thankful that Marlene and I met. Her loving friendship will forever stay with me and i am forever thankful for this, also my thoughts and prayers and with her family and friends in this extremely difficult time. - Posted by: Jasmine Jiles (Friend ) on: Nov 05, 2016

I was shocked to hear of Marlene's tragic death at such a young age. While her life was cut short she did live and enjoy life to the fullest, travelling to various locales in Canada to pursue her career ambitions. She also befriended many people along the way with her outgoing personality. My heart goes out to her immediate family and friends. It is hard to reconcile such an unnecessary death. Treasure the memories of her life, relive them often, and hold on to the dearly. Blair Webster - Posted by: Blair Webster (Uncle ) on: Nov 02, 2016
