ROSE LUSCHINSKI Peacefully, on October 30, 2016, Mom passed away with family by her side. She will be sadly missed by daughters, Carol, Nancy, Susan (Glen) and daughter-in-law Shirley. Grandchildren, Mark (Roberta), Christie (Don), Jennifer (Mike), Kayla (Ryan), Kevin (Laura). Great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Kierra and William. She was predeceased by her husband Ted and son Jerry; parents, Nick and Mary; and brother Ted. She also leaves to mourn, her sisters, Olga, Diane (Harry); brothers, Walter and Ed (Ollie), along with many nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Fraserwood on August 15, 1930. She was employed at the Fraserwood Creamery, and then moved to Winnipeg at a young age to work at St. Josephs Hospital. She moved to Gimli to work at the Gimli Hospital, where she met and married the love of her life. They owned and operated Teds Solo for many years, until Dad's retirement. From there she worked at Tip Top Foods, and then Viking Pharmacy, until her retirement. Mom loved to cook , knit, play bingo and cards. She also loved to bowl and you could often find her and Nanna Kardal out for coffee at the "Oldie". She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary, volunteered for clubs throughout the years, and spent many hours volunteering at New Harbor. Mom's hard work ethics and pride for her family will be instilled in our lives forever. We would like to thank Dr. Rhoma and the staff at the Gimli Health Centre for their care and compassion. As per her wishes, a celebration of her life and luncheon will be held at the Gimli Legion on November 12, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gimli Community Health Centre in Mom's name.

  • To my Auntie Rosy Thank You for reaching out to me many years ago. Thank You for keeping in touch and treating me like family. I will miss you and the times and conversations we shared. Susan , Nancy and Carol .... my thoughts are with you. Wish I could be there to Honor your Mom Bev - Posted by: Bev (Neice) on: Nov 07, 2016

  • I remember Rose always welcoming me into her home (and feeding me--I have a particularly vivid and tasty memory of her cooking wild morels in cream). I think she always suspected that Nancy, Debbie and I were up to something but she seemed to encourage rather than discourage that. I always thought she must be a little mischievous at heart. My deepest sympathy to Nancy and all of the family. - Posted by: Margo Matwychuk (Friend of Nancy) on: Nov 05, 2016
