BARBARA EDITH REEVE 1949 - 2016 With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our dear sister Barbara. She will be sadly missed by her father Peter Reeve, daughter Christine Rams, sisters, Patricia Rathwell and Janet Reeve and their families, as well as many friends (especially four legged ones) in Victoria, Toronto and Winnipeg. Barbara was predeceased by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Reeve. Barbara grew up as a free spirit in Winnipeg, living life to the fullest. After university she travelled abroad and enjoyed working as a flight attendant, moving to Toronto to work in the real estate and hospitality industries. Her beloved daughter Christine was born in Toronto, and Barbara was thrilled to attend Christine's wedding last year and thought the world of Christine's husband Kris. Barbara moved to Victoria in 2001 and obtained her veterinary assistant certification. She travelled to Africa to volunteer with an animal clinic, and also was a volunteer at the Victoria SPCA. She ran a successful pet-sitting business in Victoria, Pampered Pets, and loved all of her furry friends. Barbara was active in the BC Schizophrenia Society both as a board member and as a Memorial Fund Committee member. She was passionate about seeing people with mental illness and their families receive support. Barbara also went back to university in BC, and was taking courses on social justice. She worked hard and excelled at her studies. Barbara was a great reader, photographer and fashionista. She will always be remembered for her kind and sage advice and support to friends and family. At Barbara's request, a private family service has been held. Condolences may be made by visiting www.earthsoption.com, and donations in Barbara's memory would be kindly accepted to her favorite charities, the BC Schizophrenia Society or Victoria SPCA.
