Predeceased by her husband Art, she is survived by her children, Yale (Carol), Anne, Meda, Michele, Moe and Cara (Jonathan), 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Pearl was born in Winnipeg in 1923, grew up in Buchanan, Saskatchewan and returned to Winnipeg at age 17 where she remained for the rest of her life. She was an avid bridge player (life master) and sports fan. She curled for many years and watched sports right up to the time of her death. Auntie Pearl was a great friend of our grandmother and like family to us all. I warmly remember many summer spent days in the pool at the Scotia house, and Auntie Pearl's generosity. - Posted by: Erica Moodie (Friend) on: Nov 13, 2016

Our family will always remember Pearl for her warmth, her kindness, and her generosity. We appreciated too her keen intellect, her sense of humor, and her sharing with us her amazing recipe for chocolate bundt cake! Pearl and Art "adopted" us when we lived in Winnipeg for 2 years as young marrieds. We maintained our very special, loving friendship for over 40 years through visits and phone calls. We always felt surrounded by Pearl's warmth and caring. I will miss our weekly phone calls and looking for magnets to send to Pearl when we travel. - Posted by: Marcia and Robert Kerchner (Friend) on: Nov 09, 2016

My deepest sympathy to the Lerner family! I loved your Mum and she was so good to me! Sometimes she was determined to have her own way, and usually got what she wanted, like keep me doing her hair every week, even though I was retired! She taught me lots, and especially her red pepper relish was a treasure! Your Mum loved each one of you and grieved when you were so far away! Donna - Posted by: Donna Harper (Pearls hairdresser!
