Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN LAVERGNE HEALEY December 8, 1935 - November 6, 2016 It is with broken hearts that our family announces the passing of Norm (Red), at the Victoria Hospital, with his family by his side. Norm was predeceased by his parents Ken and Jean, his wife's parents, her siblings and their spouses: Frank and Elizabeth Neumann; George (Elsie); Gladys (Denis) Fillion; Pat (Moe) Brabant; Ken (Louise), and niece Dorothy Trudel. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted and loving wife Marge, of 58 years; son Robert; grandchildren and their spouses, Heather (Terry) Trelka, and Brian (Cassie). Also left to mourn his memory are his sisters and their husbands, Thelma (Jack) Weldon and June (Don) Beattie; brother-in-law Fern Remillard; sisters-in-law Pat Neumann and Linda McMillan; his aunts Marion Skolas and Doreen Godkin; as well as his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Norm was born in Armley, SK and at the age of five, the family moved to Sherridan, MB. It was there that he began his career as a heavy equipment operator which carried him throughout northern Manitoba. In 1956 Norm met the love of his life Marge. They were married in 1958 and started their family. In 1968, he began his 26 year career with the City Of Winnipeg as a heavy equipment operator, later on being promoted to Foreman. He retired in 1994, loaded up the motor home and headed to Texas where he enjoyed many winters. Norm's happiest times were being surrounded by friends and loved ones. Marge and Norm's doors were always open, either for a friendly visit or for someone in need. He enjoyed spending time with his family, either at home or at the lake; boating, fishing and telling stories around the campfire. His passions in life were playing and watching hockey, curling and golf, as well as watching football games with family. He also had a love for dancing. Norm will be fondly remembered for that special twinkle in his eye. The family would like to sincerely thank his home care workers, Prime Care at Misericordia; Dr. Cavers, as well as the nurses and staff at Victoria Hospital for his exceptional care. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 15 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy's Catholic Parish, 135 John Forsyth Road, with a gathering of family and friends to follow in the reception centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Parkinson's Society or to The Kidney Foundation.
