GEORGE WILLIAM FELBEL Passed away at on November 3, 2016 following a lengthy battle with prostate cancer at the age of 72, in Victoria, BC. He leaves to mourn, to be forever missed, and lovingly remembered by his wife Alice; son Timothy; sister Eileen Rapke; brother Wayne (Judy); sister-in-law Elaine Nodwell; brothers-in-law Brian Wolitski, Art Kohanik (Helen); nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Predeceased by his father Wilhelm "Bill" and mother Alma, George was born in Winnipeg, July 23, 1944. He lived in Ashern, MB up to six years of age until his parents move to Winnipeg where he remained. In 1969 George married Alice Kohanik and entered into apprenticeship with Red River Electric Ltd. The opportunity to work for three years for RRE Electric in Calgary preceded him starting a company of his own in Edmonton for three more years. Some years later George and three partners formed a new company which lasted 30 years. Although George enjoyed working in the electrical industry, he was ready to retire in the spring of 2014. George enjoyed fishing, which he did a lot of in the winter and spring. Most of the time he would partner up with Allen "Big Al" Black as they had a lot of equipment. George enjoyed weekend camping with Alice and Tim, as well as trips to Mexico. He enjoyed taking the time to help others, with much of it being electrical work. No matter if it was late evening, if he gave his word to help he was there. With the plan to move to Vancouver Island George took up crabbing and trail walking. So in June of 2016 he made the final move. George had been battling prostate cancer with radiation and chemotherapy since 2011. During this time he never wavered from his Christian faith. His words were "I know where I am going." Words he expressed whenever the opportunity presented itself. Rest our loved one, until we meet again where we will never be separated again. A Celebration service will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., at Albright Church, 3400 DeVries Avenue, East St. Paul, MB. • I first met George in 1964. I had just arrived from Scotland working for the Hudson's Bay Company. My first posting was Pukatawagan, Manitoba, this is where I met George. His family was visiting at the time, and they made a homesick Scot welcome. George and I worked well together, then George got transferred to LaLoche, Saskatchewan. I have never forgotten George, he was a fine fellow. Condolences goes out to the family. - Posted by: Al MacGregor (friend) on: Nov 10, 2016
