Born: Aug 31, 1923
Date of Passing: Nov 13, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERALDA DUFOUR (née BEAUDRY) It was with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Géralda (Titoune) Dufour on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at the age of 93. Mom is the last of the Beaudry siblings and has now joined her parents and dear husband Oliva. Left to cherish her memory are her seven children, Louise (Marc), Denise (Herb), Jeannette (Jerry), Claudette, Claude (Joanne), Linda (Wayne) and Mona (Brant); eight grandchildren, Charlene (John), Tara (Gregg), Jodie (Jonathan), Michael, Chad (Sango), Kristy (Paul), Brad and Jean-Paul; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Gertrude Fraser and Bertha Beaudry and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mom was born August 31, 1923 in St. Eustache. She had to quit school at a very young age to help look after her mom and to help on the family farm. In 1943 Mom married Oliva Dufour and they had seven children. Mom was a strong individual, a hard worker, a symbol of beauty and grace and always a lady. Mom always created an atmosphere of love, acceptance and respect. She was always very practical and down to earth. Mom was shy and serious however, Dad could always break her into a smile. A true champion of anyone she loved. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to her and her eyes lit up whenever they were around. She enjoyed camping, travelling with Dad and spent her spare time knitting and reading. Mom and Dad worked right into their eighties looking after an apartment block in Calgary. Mom really enjoyed the tenants and became good friends with many of them and they in turn had a lot of respect for Mom and Dad. Finally they retired and returned to Winnipeg to be closer to their family in 2006. We would like to thank the nurses and staff at Foyer Valade for their care during Mom's stay at the home. Funeral services will be held in the Elie Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, at 1:30 on November 19, 2016 followed by a family interment at the Elie Parish Cemetery with Father Armand Le Gal officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Parkinson Canada, 414 Westmount Dr, Winnipeg, MB R2J 1P2. Adam's Funeral Home of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba in care of arrangements. Gerry was one of the first people I met when I came to Calgary from Winnipeg in 1997. I was looking for an apartment and happened to drive by 7375 4A ST and saw a "For Rent" sign. I buzzed the manager and out came Gerry. She said someone else was coming to look at the suite but she would show it to me anyway. We started chatting and bonded immediately. Both of us being from Manitoba made our conversation easy. I'm pretty sure she knew how much I needed to be somewhere that made me feel like home and safe and I honestly felt like she adopted me that day and I swore I would never leave as long as her and Oliva were there. To Gerry's family, your Mom meant the world to Caylee and me. She was a beautiful, kind and loving friend to us. We are so blessed to have been part of her life. Hugs and love to all of you. - Posted by: Wendy and Caylee Hetzel (Friends) on: Nov 18, 2016

Will always remember her great sense of humour and her quick wit. She raised a wonderful family and it is so sad to lose our last auntie in the Beaudry family. Our sincere sympathies to all the Dufour family. Sincerely Marlene and Alan Chorley - Posted by: Marlene and Alan Chorley (Niece) on: Nov 17, 2016
