ROBERT GERALD KABEL
Born: Nov 11, 1934
Date of Passing: Nov 12, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT GERALD KABEL November 11, 1934 - November 12, 2016 In Loving Memory Words meant to express how much Bob Kabel was loved by family and friends would fill volumes of books rather than this short note. When Bob set a goal, he succeeded at it. He was a talented executive for Labatt Breweries; a professional hockey player and was member of the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame and Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame. But - to Bob- what really mattered to him was his family. He is survived by his wife Joann, his daughters Kathy and Charlene, sister / daughter Eve; sons-in-law, Ronald, Gary and Kevin, and his brothers Dunc, Neil and Ron. Bob adored his grandchildren Angie, Bobby, Erinn, Bailey, Brittany, Kit and Cassie, and he grew to love their spouses Roy, Trevor and Tiffany. In his last years, what gave him the most joy was his great-grandchildren: Connor, Liam, Colton, Kenley, Hadley and Maeve. Bob was a dynamic, caring, big-hearted man. His personality filled the room. Grandpa Bob will be missed on Earth, but he will be eagerly embraced in Heaven by his daughter Colleen, as well as, his parents, brothers, sister and several family members and friends. There's little doubt that Bob will be surrounded by a large crowd of caring loved ones; and we are equally certain that he'll find himself in the middle of a large circle of dogs happily awaiting the treats they'll know will be doled out to them from underneath the table. In lieu of flowers, your donations to the Brain Injury Institute of Canada would be appreciated. http://braininjurycanada.ca/donations/ A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 13 Brower Drive, Sherwood Park. Bob was a great person and dedicated to hockey and the people around it. I only knew Bob briefly in The Ranger Hockey program and being a Manitoban, but he never forgot friends. I was involved in the Western Canada Summer Games in Wpg.(1990) and I called Bob for support from Labatt's and he flew in from Alberta remembered me from 1960, sat down talked about hockey in Manitoba He offered me an agreement of sponsorship which was out of this World, we shook hands. Bob I will always remember you. - Posted by: D0n MacKenzie (Met Bob thru Hockey) on: Nov 21, 2016
