MARY JEAN PESTUN April 2, 1924 - November 13, 2016 Mary Jean Pestun, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 with family at her side. Family meant everything to Mary and she will be forever missed but her spirit will always be present in each of our lives. Mary dedicated her entire life to caring for others and continued to serve as a volunteer caregiver until she entered hospice. She was predeceased by her husband Michael Pestun in 1999. Mary is survived by her children, Gerry Pestun (Cathy), Marilyn Parnell (Jerry), Wayne Pestun (Victoria) and Janice Pestun; as well her grandchildren, Brian Parnell, Leanna Filmon, Jeffrey Parnell, Shannon Pestun and Jeremy Pestun; as well as six great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 18, 2016 at St. Patrick Parish, 1414 Shawnessy Blvd SW, Calgary, Alberta with reception to immediately follow. Family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to salvationarmy.ca The family also wishes to thank the staff at Chinook Hospice for their loving, compassionate support and care.
