NICHOLAS JOHN GROVER
Date of Passing: Nov 14, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICHOLAS JOHN GROVER 1947- 2016 Nick succumbed to a year long battle with cancer on Monday, November 14, 2016 surrounded by his wife and son Colin. He was born near Exceter, England. Nick is survived by his dedicated wife Elke; son Colin (Kim); granddaughter Lila; all of Winnipeg; and son Neil (Heather); and grandchildren Annika, Evan, Elise of Calgary. Also his brothers Martin and Nigel and their families of England. Nick met Elke at a jazz club in London and married shortly after in September 1969. In 1970 they immigrated to Canada, living in Regina, Edmonton, Burlington and settling in Winnipeg in 1984. Nick worked in Sales and Marketing throughout his career and was known for his steadfastness and integrity. Etched in our hearts are all-nighters tinkering on cars with his sons, adventuresome holidays across the country, combined with mountain bike races and supportive encouragement during university years. While living in Burlington Nick and Elke attended a church where they opened their hearts to the good news of Jesus Christ with that, and the strong Bible teaching of Grant Memorial Church over the last 30, years they are confident that Nick passed on to eternal life as John 3:16,17 assures us. We want to thank cancer care and the palliative care nurses for their dedicated services. Donations can be made to Linden Christian School and Grant Memorial Building Fund. Cremation has taken place, with interment of ashes in Brookside Cemetery. A service in Nick's honor will be held Monday, November 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Grant Memorial Church, 877 Wilkes Avenue.

I am saddened to have just heard of Nicks passing, at the same time honoured and privileged to have known him for two years at school. Then again later via email in 2013 exchanging stories of old boys, sport, activities and families. One of the Good Guys always a smile. God Bless.
