Lillian was the second oldest of ten children born to Carl and Anna Asmundson. Life on the farm was a busy time. Lillian started work at a very young age and later went on to Normal school, teaching in Hardy, Wampum and Piney. She was heavily involved in the community, volunteering at the meal program, treasurer of the church and president of the Over 40 Club. Lillian's kind heart extended to helping those in need by always opening their home for anyone who needed their love and care. She took in the young, the sick and the elderly. Mom was a great cook, those who knew her would know how she loved to have you sit in her kitchen and enjoy her cooking and baking. Mom enjoyed crafts, bingo and being with family and friends. Lillian and Roy enjoyed their retirement spending time with family and friends, travelling, reading and watching their grandchildren's sporting activities. The family would like to thank everyone who visited with Lillian, especially Auntie Mavis and the caring staff at the Vita Personal Care Home where Mom spent her last years. A memorial service in celebration of Lillian's life will be held at the Piney Community Centre, on Saturday November 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Lou Hermanson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lillian's memory to the Piney Community Church, General Delivery, Piney, Manitoba, R0A 1K0, for the church restoration fund.
