NADINE SHIRLEY CALVER On Monday, November 21, 2016 at home, Nadine Calver passed away as the result of the effects of Pancreatic Cancer which was diagnosed in June, 2016. She is survived by her mother Olga Bazilewich and her sister Debbie Meixner. Also surviving her and left to cherish her memory are her dearly beloved and selfless husband of 48 years Phillip; their son Jeffrey and his family Karen (Thomas and Lily) of Kelowna and younger son Andrew and his family Jennifer (Olive and Solomon) of Winnipeg. During the course of her illness Nadine received on-going support from a variety of good friends, past colleagues and health care providers. She held close to her heart and acknowledged every encouraging comment and kind gesture and was appreciative of the opportunity to reconnect with so many amazing people from her past. At Deane's request, cremation has already occurred and a memorial service will be organized for a future date. Flowers will be gratefully declined but donations to Winnipeg Harvest Tin for the Bin will be received at the Memorial Service.

  • Mrs. Calver was my teacher in both Grades 5 and 6 at George V School in the 1970s. I remember her always expecting the best from her students, a little tough, but always fair and caring. She was a wonderful example what a good teacher can be. I offer my condolences to her friends and family.   • Deepest sympathy to the Calver family. Nadine was the BEST principal in Wellington as well as at Greenway Schools. Our children attended both and she was a cherished friend as well as educator. Her memories linger on in our home with many good times we had with her. She spearheaded the "Fast (Family and Schools Together program) at Wellington which we were an active part of.
