VANESSA FAITH LAYE October 13, 1988 - October 4, 2016 It is with the most profound of broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beautiful daughter, sister, and auntie, Vanessa Faith Laye, on October 4, 2016 at the age of 27, in British Columbia. There are no words to express the sadness; the deep and pain filled loss to which there feels as though there is no end. Vanessa leaves behind her mom and dad, Diana and David Starin; her father Randy Laye (Donna); her sister and forever best friend, Serena Laye; her nephew Connor and her niece Parvati. They were her most favorite people in the whole wide world!!! She loved them with all of her heart and spent as much time as possible with them! She was known as "The best Auntie ever!!" Chloe, her fur baby, was Vanessa's pal. Also left to mourn Vanessa's passing are aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Vanessa grew up in Selkirk, but decided to move West to BC in her late teens to join her sister Serena. She returned to College and enrolled as a Resident Care Aid. Vanessa graduated with Honors! She went on to work in a Personal Care Home. She loved her job, working with the elderly. She went on to work in the Activity department. She organized bingo, beauty days, cooking, bowling....she was so happy there! We have lost our Vanessa; the most beautiful, loving and wonderful part of our lives. We pray that you are safe in Heaven Baby Girl. Wrapped up in your Nana's loving arms xoxo "I love you forever, I like you for always, As long as I'm living; my baby you'll be". Our loving daughter, Vanessa, gave the most precious gift imaginable. Vanessa was a registered organ donor and gave the gift of life to five recipients. We could never be prouder! A Celebration of Vanessa's Life will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
