JOHN (JACK) HERBERT LAVINEWAY John (Jack) Herbert Lavineway born July 19, 1938 Shoal Lake, Manitoba, passed away at Concordia Hospital in the evening of November 25, 2016 surrounded by his family. He is predeceased by his parents, sisters, Eleanor, Minnie and Jane. Left to mourn his passing is his wife of 33 years, Dorothy; his children, Delwyne, Sheldon (Norma), Anita Gelowitz (David), David (Sherisse); and by his grandchildren, Nathan, Sean, Solana, Conner, Danica, Amber and Scott. As per his wishes, there will be no service and his body will be cremated. There will be a private family ceremony at a later date. We would like to thank the staff of Concordia Hospital, 3rd Floor West Nursing station for the care and support they provided us in the last few weeks.

  • My condolences to Dorothy and family. I first met Jack a number of years ago at a jam session at another friend's house. I sure loved Jack's guitar picking and I treasure the numerous times that I got to join him and our friends in jamming sessions in later years.   • My deepest and sincerest condolences to Dorothy and the family in the passing of their loved one. Having known Jack for over 40 years, I have many precious memories of the times spent together, listening to the wonderful singing and guitar playing that Jack excelled at, playing cards, enjoying a drink and the good times spent at the lake.
