DORIS ANNABELLE STANDING Doris passed away peacefully in Toronto, Ontario, on November 25, 2016, at the age of 84. Doris was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on February 11, 1932 and was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Williams; and her brother Hudson Standing. Aunt Doris is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Janet Standing, Don Williams, Laura DiMatteo, Nancy Swietzer, and Patricia Dominieck. Doris attained several university degrees, her final one from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Information Studies. She then settled in Toronto where she was a career librarian with the Ministry of Health. Doris was a quiet woman, with solid character who showed a great interest in current events, politics, social issues, health issues, and travel. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Our family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at North York General and Baycrest for their kindness and care. A private family burial at Glendale Cemetery took place on Friday, December 2, 2016. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
