Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I remember him taking me on a tour of the Iron ore docks when I was a kid. - Posted by: David Siwalk () on: Feb 13, 2017

  • I will certainly miss my brother John. Over the past few years I was able to face time with him a few times a week. What a blessing and I miss those chats immensely. He would not talk religion with me until a few years ago. Since then he found the Lord and accepted Him with all his heart and soul. He told me a few months ago that he had never been so much at peace. I know where he is and I await joining him in Heaven. - Posted by: Bill Almdal (Brother) on: Dec 05, 2016

  • The keeper of family stories, Uncle John was an animated story teller. I enjoyed our infrequent chats over the years and especially my visits with him this past year. What an honor to see him transform before my eyes as the Holy Spirit worked in him. God is good. My prayers are with you as you transition to a life without his physical presence. Love and hugs. • Hi Chris, Ted, Pam & Tracy - wow, I can't believe all these railway fellows are leaving us. So sad about Johnny - last time I saw him was pushing a shopping cart in Canadian Tire a few years ago and just chugging along! We have lots of memories and pictures of Dad (Lee), Mom (Susan), Johnny, Dorothy, the Marshalls, Goodfellows, etc. at all the fun parties, listening to Frank Sinatra, Tony Orlando, Dean Martin, etc! What times at the lake we had as children - its all gone by so fast. Hugs to each of you and many fond memories of Dad & Johnny hoisting a drink and telling a story with laughter and twinkles in their eyes! Thinking of you all fondly at this sad time - Rona Johnston & Michael Blomberg - Posted by: Rona Johnston & Michael Blomberg (Friend of the family) on: Dec 04, 2016

  • I'll miss our chats over a single malt Glenlivet. When we meet up again my friend I'll bring the ice. - Posted by: Bryan Harmer (Co-worker at CN Rail and fellow volunteer at the Prairie Dog Central Railway.) on: Dec 03, 2016
