VERNA MARIE PETRICK Peacefully, surrounded by her family, Verna passed away on December 2, 2016. Verna was born in Garland, Manitoba on May 6, 1927. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Thomas; parents Peter and Julia Lorette; sister Cornelia, and brother Jack. She leaves to mourn her six children, Andrew (Maria); Richard; Patricia Machado (Joseph); Douglas (Karen); Paul (Maureen) and Kim Storseth (Greg); 15 grandchildren, Lisa, Clark, Jadahl and Dallas, Shawn, Bradley, Kayla and Adam, Anders, Monica and Stephanie, Thomas and Vanessa, Brendin and Danielle, four great-grandchildren, Sydnee, C.J., Chloe, and Colin, along with brother James Lorette (Jocelyne), and sister-in-law Cheryl Gibbs (Mike). Verna was a loving mother with a passion for family first. She enjoyed sports and was very active in curling and in her later years, shuffle board. Her fondest moments in curling were being crowned the Manitoba Provincial Senior Ladies' Curling Champion and then was later elected President of the Manitoba Ladies' Curling Association. Along with husband Tom, they enjoyed many years as snowbirds in Mesa, AZ, and their summer place in Petersfield, MB. She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends as a great hostess and for enjoying life to it's fullest. Her energy and enthusiasm was infectious to all. Mom, we hold you in our hearts and will miss you forever.
