Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDELMAR JOHN MUNROE October 14, 1940 - December 5, 2016 Peacefully on December 5, after a number of years of ill health, Del joined his mother Mary Yeaman, brothers Frank and Terry, and friends Bob and Neil. He was born in Swan River, MB on October 14, 1940 and moved to Ontario in his youth. Del spent a number of years in foster homes and later moved to Winnipeg - Beausejour and finally Gimli. He had been employed as a fireman at the Winnipeg Airport (spare time was spent landscaping for Shelmerdine's) and retired in 1996. Left to mourn his passing is close friend Rose Marie Hess, her son Derek (Barb) and Steven; his sons Barry (QueLan), Brian (Larisa) and Collin; grandchildren Shane, Jessica (Bryce) Harchaw, Adam, Nicholas, Linda and Wyatt; great-grandchild Keiran; brother Barry Munroe; half-sisters Janice (Wayne) Kennedy and Nancy (Brian) Best; sisters-in-law Sherry and Jean, and his hairy friends Lady and Miah. Friends are invited to a celebration of life at St. Michael's Hall at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, officiated by Deacon Phil Durant. Interment will be at Dnister Cemetery in the spring. If you so desire donations in memory of Del may be made to Evergreen Basic Needs, Gimli, or to the Gimli Humane Society.
