DANIEL HARRISON IMPEY It is with unbelievable sorrow that we announce that Daniel Harrison Impey passed away on December 5, 2016. He will be so greatly missed every single second of every day by his sister Amanda, his mother Linda and his father Dennis. Sharing our sorrow is his partner and truly a member of our family, Carla Zaroda, along with her family. Forever loving their only grandson are grandparents Elsie and John Thrumble. Amanda and our family are comforted by her partner Cory Enns. Daniel will be remembered by all of his aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family, as well as an enormous group of close and loyal friends. Dan favoured the trades over the office and switched from commerce at the University of Manitoba to plumbing at Red River College and was in the process of attaining his plumbing certification. He had many friends and colleagues at Wes-Man Mechanical and a long working relationship with Al Reidke. Dan had an aptitude for mechanical work. Always handing out a helping hand, Dan would do any handy job around the house that needed doing with a smile on his face. Daniel will always be a caring, funny and outgoing part of our family. Dan loved being a part of every family gathering and always looked forward to Sunday dinners and family celebrations. He has many friends who he met playing community club hockey, golfing at Rossmere, playing guitar in the garage bands, skateboarding around the city and snowboarding at Springhill. He loved fishing with his buddies, especially Blaine, and family time at the cottage in Victoria Beach. With a smile on his face, he was often making others laugh with jokes and his silly nature. He knew all the words to every country song and would sing out loud in the car. It's his happy-go-lucky nature and that contagious laugh that will be so, so sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Evening visitation and prayer service will take place on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 315 Munroe Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in support of his cousin to L'Arche Winnipeg, or to a charity that is close to your heart. • I am so sorry to hear of Daniels passing. Parents should never be allowed to out live their child , its so unnatural. Please allow yourself to feel all of your emotions. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is only your way. Lean on family and friends. Cherish the good memories. If you are anything like me, you will feel as if you are one big raw nerve exposed to every negative feeling in the world. If you need to talk, cry, scream or rage with someone, I'm here for you.. My heart goes out to you and the family. Patty - Posted by: Patty (A grieving Mother) (Stevens Mom) on: Dec 15, 2016

  • Our family was devastated to hear of Daniel's passing. The Impey children and the Byron children attended school together when the kids were wee little ones. I grew to know the young man Daniel when he volunteered as an assistant coach running skating drills and bravely saving wear and tear on the (older & somewhat heavier) senior coaches' bodies. His beloved sister Amanda played on the 2007/2008 Bronx Park Bruins team with my late daughter Mallory. Daniel was an absolute gem and carried himself extremely well; always a positive example, helping girls get better at the game of hockey. Daniel had an endearing twinkle in his eyes and I was proud when asked to write a letter of recommendation for a young lad who was far kinder and compassionate than I was at that age. The Byron family extends our condolences and prayers to Dennis, Linda, Amanda and the grandparents of a friendly soul taken far too soon. • To Dennis, Linda and family. Bob and I are so saddened to read of Daniel's passing in today's paper. Although many years have passed since we worked together, I still remember his birth, and we can only imagine the sorrow you are feeling at this time. You are in our thoughts. - Posted by: Pam Caswill (Former co-worker of Dennis) on: Dec 10, 2016
