ROSS THOMPSON 1933 - 2016 On December 7, 2016 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 83 years. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Muriel; children Carol (Leonard) Pressey, David (Geri-Lynn), Janet and Gerry Thompson; grandchildren Clinton (Lindsay), Vincent (Sara), Graham (Aleks), and Timothy (Serina); and great-grandson Liam. Ross retired in 1988 after 38 years at the Manitoba Telephone System. After retiring, he volunteered for 15 years for Victoria Lifeline. He enjoyed cycling, woodworking and travelling. Ross was never too busy to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbours. He was a dedicated, lifelong member of St. Alban's and St. Luke's Anglican Church. A service will be held on Monday, December 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. A private interment will take place at a later date. Our family thanks the doctors, nurses and staff for the excellent care he received at the St. Boniface Hospital in the ICCS ward at the I.H. Asper Institute and at the Victoria General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

  • Muriel, Please accept our sincere condolences. Ross was a truly giving and remarkable man who will be missed. - Posted by: Randy and Linda Benedictson (friends from St. Alban's) on: Dec 12, 2016

  • Muriel, my condolences to you and your family at this sad time. I was pleased to meet Ross at St. Luke's as I remembered him as a teenager and knew his parents when I was a child. In recent years I admired his woodworking skill and the contribution it made to St. Luke's. He will be missed. Sincerely, Barbara Fisher - Posted by: Barbara Fisher (Fellow parishioner at St. Luke's) on: Dec 10, 2016
