STANLEY SAFINUK Our father was big and strong and always fought for what he believed in. Just short of his 90th birthday he lost that ability and we lost him. He was respected by all who knew him and loved his family immensely. Predeceased by his parents, Harry and Eva, his brother Michael, his sisters Jean (Don), Julie (Wally) and his beloved daughter-in-law Diane. He leaves to mourn the love of his life of 61 years Geraldine. His devoted children, Sharon (Norm), Gail (Mitch), Laura (Jerry), and Kirby. His absolute pride and joy his grandchildren, Holli, Samantha (Barny), Paula, Grant, Justin (Ashley), Shaun, Braden (Celine) and his great-grandsons, Leo, Elijah and Zebediah A favourite uncle to his many nieces and nephews and loved by our extended family in BC Our father was a hard worker joining CNR at the age of 16 and worked as a machinist for 42 years. There, he made many lifelong friends and was respected by all he worked with. After retirement his new job was driving his grandchildren around. He loved to travel with countless trips to California and Vegas. He and our mom also traveled through Canada, Japan, Jamaica, Barbados, Hawaii, Europe, England, Ukraine, Jordan, Egypt, the Dead Sea, Australia and cruised in the Caribbean and down the Nile. He loved music, especially Lawrence Welk and his favourite station CJNU. The casino was one of his favourite places. He loved sports and excelled in baseball, both playing and coaching, hockey, football and curling. His value of sportsmanship will always be with us. In 1975 he and our mother purchased Wendigo cabin. This amazing property has provided our family and many friends over 40 years of enjoyment and breathless sunsets. He loved to sit on his bench looking out towards the water, with a cold beer and a smile on his face. He loved our mom with a passion, together they raised an extremely close knit family. And it was family he cared about the most. We were his everything and he was our big, strong, caring dad. We will always remember our times with him, sometimes crazy, but always with love. We will miss his "where you been", "I have been looking all over for you" and "I love you and I will always love you". NAZAROVIA DAD Until we meet again.....CHEERS!
