Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • My belated condolences to the Warren family. A few times I had thought back about Tommy and today just looked him up on the internet. I am sorry to see that he passed away several years ago. I had the pleasure of spending a few years of my early youth knowing Tommy as he lived across the street, a few doors down. Tommy was very adventurous kid and things happened around his home. He had a great personality and years later, my mother told me whenever she met him, he would greet her with a big hello, how are you and chit chat whereas most young kids would ignore their neighbours. Tommy was very mischievous. Most houses on our street had front wire type fences and gates. For fun, Tommy later Halloween night, switched the gates on both sides of the street. I wondered the next morning all the commotion on the street as neighbours had gates in their hands and were looking up and down the street for theirs. Tommy strikes again. The next year there was someone's bicycle hanging from the top of a telephone pole and I thought of Tommy. On Halloween night, my grandfather used to nail the garbage bin doors shut as the next morning, one could not drive down the back lanes as garbage bins littered the back lane. Tommy introduced to baked potatoes one evening when he had bon fire in the yard. I had never had them before and he cooked them to perfection. I remember his older brother as the leader of one of two bicycle gangs in our neighbourhood. His brother was in junior high at that time. When I was young, I had a lot of fun times with Tommy. Thanks for the memories. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Colin Dederick (school friend) on: May 15, 2021
