MICHAJLINA (PAT) HAYDEN (nee ZALESKI) 1928 - 2016 Peacefully on December 7, 2016 surrounded by family at Rock Lake Personal Care Home in Pilot Mound, MB, Pat passed away at the age of 88. Pat was born and raised on the family farm in St. Martin, MB. She later moved to Winnipeg. In her circle of friends, there were already various "Midges" and "Linas", so to avoid confusion they randomly called her Pat. Pat had various jobs in cookie factories and restaurants. At one restaurant where Pat was a waitress, she caught the eye of Edward; they later married and raised their family. Pat got her hair dressing license and cut, coloured, and permed hair in her home studio. When the kids finished school, Pat went back to work at Oakview Place Personal Care Home. Frequent family gatherings with aunts, uncles, and cousins instilled a close family connection that continues today. Pat was skilled at cards, curling, and shuffle board. Pat loved to cook. You never left her house hungry. Her perogies and cabbage rolls were second to none! Her passion was passed on to her children who are home chefs, chefs, owned their own restaurant and a granddaughter who is now attending culinary arts. Pat will be lovingly remembered by daughters, Marg Smart, Marsha Colman (Kerry Coleman), Brenda (Desmond) Gould; son Richard (Sharon Leckie); grandchildren Tara Davidson, Tanya Willis, Alain, Tony and Rosilyn Gould, Nicholas and Cody Hayden, Nolan Leckie and Margot Hayden; great grandchildren Ainsley and Taythan Willis, Kohen and Kashton Davidson; her sister Helen Kitchur; sister-in-law Helen Zaleski; many cousins and many nieces and nephews. Pat is predeceased by her husband Edward; son Donald; parents Michael and Josephine; her brothers, Joseph, Broney and John; sisters Sophie Klassen and Stephanie Fox. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Winnipeg, MB. Viewing will take place an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. The reception will follow at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.
