RICHARD TRAMER June 4, 1946 - December 13, 2016 It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many, at the age of 70 years old following a short but extremely courageous battle with cancer. Richard was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Anne, in 1999, and then by his parents, Egon and Nelly Tramer. He leaves to mourn and miss him terribly his children, Shannon (David) and Jason (Jonie); his two grandsons who brought him immeasurable joy, Aaron and Ronan; his sister Elizabeth, to whom he was exceptionally close and who he loved dearly; his brother-in-law Sam as well as many nieces, nephews, and their families and countless friends. Funeral service to be held on Friday, December 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Chesed Shel Emes, 1023 Main St. followed by burial at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery and The Meal of Condolence at Shaarey Zedek Synagogue 561 Wellington Cres. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Our heartfelt thanks to all the doctors and nurses there as well as at the Victoria Hospital, who all gave him such excellent care.

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • My sympathy goes out to Shannon, Jason,Liz and their respective families upon the sudden passing of Richard. Richard was my "right hand man" since my husband Bill died. Richard and Bill were very close friends and work mates at E.S.S. He was one of the most generous and caring people I have ever met. I know a part of him died when he lost Anne. We spent so much time together recalling all the wonderful times we had shared as couples. Richard never waited to be asked; rather, he anticipated one's needs and always arrived with a helpful gadget, tool or appliance. He was a dedicated, loving father and a very proud grandfather. I believe that Anne and Richard are together for eternity. Thank you, Richard, for being such a special friend. - Posted by: Janie Marshall (close friend) on: Dec 27, 2016

  • Elizabeth, I am shocked and saddened to hear about your beloved Brother Richard. I well remember how close the two of you always were. He was always looking out for you as big brothers often do. You are in my thoughts during this very difficult time. Yvette Perlov - Posted by: Yvette Perlov (Friends from St. John's High) on: Dec 16, 2016

  • Our deepest sympathy to the Tramer family. We were colleagues of Richard for many years and held him in our highest esteem. With our respectful prayers...Vic and Lucille Mollot - Posted by: Vic and Lucille Mollot (former colleagues) on: Dec 16, 2016

  • I knew Richard through his work with ESS in the St. James-Assiniboia School Division. He was so very dedicated to the kids who needed his help. He always wore black jeans to work, but when he retired, the dress code at St. Charles Country Club required him to wear dress pants. He made a funny comment about that. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Cathie Morgan Matula (former teacher in St. James-Assiniboia S.D.) on: Dec 15, 2016
