DORIS OLSEN It is with sadness in our hearts we announce that Doris Olsen said her final goodbye on December 5, 2016 at the Saint Boniface Hospital. She is predeceased by her parents, Magda and Henry; brother Harold; nephew Vern; niece Sheila; sister-in-law Delia. She leaves behind her brothers, Herb and Raymond Olsen and numerous nieces and nephews; cousin Ken; sister-in-law Glenis and family in New Zealand. Doris was born August 25, 1936 on a homestead in Saskatchewan and later on residing in Lockport, Selkirk, and Winnipeg. Doris found great satisfaction being around people. She was smart, funny, witty and didn't hold anything back. She had many close friends, especially her lifelong friend Lynn. Doris enjoyed life to the fullest along with her travels abroad to New Zealand. Doris also loved staying at her trailer in the Oasis campground in Birds Hill which she enjoyed for many years. She worked many years selling real estate and later settling into sales. Doris struggled through health issues but she always found time for her friends and family. She was always a phone call away. Upon Doris's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. Friends and family will be notified at a later date for a Celebration of Life get together, where we will have a toast/drink to a great lady with a big heart and reminisce about her life with laughter and memories. An understanding heart, An intelligent mind, We will miss you Doris, You were one of a kind.
