JEAN-MARC (MARC) LAURENCELLE December 21, 1959 - December 16, 2016 It is with heavy hearts that we announce Marc's passing on December 16, 2016. Marc will be forever remembered by his wife of 30 years, Marni; his pride and joy, daughters, Kendra and Kaelyn and his dog Bella. He will be missed by his mother Yvette Fifi; sister Joanne (Luc); sister Mona (Richard); and brother Denis (Lori); as well as extended family and many friends. Marc fought a very courageous two year battle with pancreatic cancer. He did not let cancer rule him. He was in charge. One year after diagnosis, he retired from MTS after 32 years of service. Marc took pride in his work and had an impeccable work ethic. He worked hard and played hard. He traveled to many places with lots of friends and just enjoyed life one day at a time. He bought a Harley in the summer of 2015 and was fortunate to have ridden in 2015 and 2016. Thank you to our close friends, family, and co-workers who supported us through this journey. Thank you to the amazing nurses at the Buhler Cancer Centre (VGH) who took care of him. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles (3870) in St. Norbert. Please wear jeans. There will be a cash bar. Please come reminisce and share stories with us. In lieu of flowers, please donate to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity close to your heart.

Marc started at MTS a year before me in 1984 and one of my first assignments was to be a part of his cable placing crew. He was one of the hardest working individuals I've worked with and led the way for all of us younger kids to be guided by. He had many stories, and we laughed a lot .. boy oh boy we laughed. Marni I'm so sorry to have heard of Marc's passing. I offer my condolences to you and the girls, take care . Hearts are heavy with the knowledge of Marc's passing. I am truly sorry for the loss. To help you get through the next few weeks, when you are alone and your heart is breaking, think of a very special memory, you and Marc shared that puts the sparkles in your eye and your smile on your face. Hold that memory, and when you feel like that, think of that special memory and you will know that he is close to you. It is just a small way to help you get to the next few minutes. No words to say.....Lynda - Posted by: Lynda Closson (Friend) on: Dec 22, 2016

My deepest sympathy on Marc's passing Marni and family. I have known and worked with Marc for 30 years. He was a pleasure to know and work with. He always had a story to tell and bring a smile to everyone he encountered. It was always a better day running into Marc and hearing him call out your name. - Posted by: Scott Lyon (co - worker) on: Dec 18, 2016

Our deepest condolence to Marni, Kendra and Kaelyn, as well as to all of Mark’s extended family. Mark & Marni raised two fine daughters, and while we lived in Winnipeg, there were times when we thought Erika became their third daughter and Kaelyn our second! We grew to know that this was a wonderful family and with the loss of Mark, we cannot imagine all that they have gone through since his illness and passing. When we read that Mark was very hard working that was very true. We knew him to be always doing something and we still have the Corvette he worked on. We will always remember him…. - Posted by: Dwight & Ginette Blok (Friends) on: Dec 18, 2016

Mom and Dad really liked Marc, his respect for people made him a favourite by many. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Rest in Peace Marc, it was a pleasure to have known you. With love, Denis, Jacqueline and Lorette. - Posted by: Thibert family (Family/friend) on: Dec 18, 2016

Marc and I worked together for many years at MTS. He was a pleasure to work with, he was always happy, never complaining about any job he was given. He would do anything asked of him. Marc could always be counted on when extra hours or out of town work was required. He got me started on Suduko puzzles, and I will continue to think of him every time I do the puzzles. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the service, but I'm sure there will be lots of great stories told that day. We were shocked and saddened to hear about Marc's passing. We will miss our many chats as we met him on our walks. He was always filled with hope and never had time for defeat. His love of life spread to everyone who had the good fortune of being in his presence. - Posted by: George & Angele Menard (Neighbours at 115) on: Dec 17, 2016
