Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA OPRYSK March 31, 1929 - December 15, 2016 It is with a deep sense of loss we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Maria was predeceased by her husband Alexander in 2011 and daughter Olla in 2012. Left to cherish Maria's memory are her children Anne, Darka (Brian), Lesia (Ian) and Roman; grandchildren Lasha, Chad and Shanley; and nine great-grandchildren. Maria was born in Ukraine and met Alex in England after the war. They immigrated to Canada in 1952, settling in Winnipeg with two-year-old Anne in tow. She was very skillful with her hands and loved gardening, cross-stitching, crocheting, and knitting afghans. Her favourite thing was taking care of her beloved grandchildren. Maria's unconditional love and generous spirit was witnessed in her devotion to her family. She could be found happily spending hours in the kitchen making perogies and holobchi for loved ones. Thanks to Park Manor Care Home for their support. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 21 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St., with Father Isidore officiating.
