SUSANNA KRAHN With heavy hearts, and deep sorrow, the family of Susanna Krahn, announce her passing on December 19, 2016. Left to cherish her memory are her children Bernhard (Beverley), Mary (Bruce), Margaret, and Susan Lynn; and her grandchildren Chantal, Pierre, Melanie (Paul), Mike "her guy" (Johanna), Liam, Kyra, Nick and Dana. She has sisters and a brother, and numerous nieces and nephews that will also miss her. She married the love of her life, Peter Krahn, on August 20, 1950, living in Altona until 1957. The family (Pete, Sue, Bernie, and Mary) then moved to Winnipeg, where Mom worked in housekeeping at Winnipeg General Hospital (now Health Sciences Centre). She also was working towards her LPN with the Militia. She became a stay-at-home mom in 1966 when Margaret was born, with Susan Lynn following 16 months later. The now-completed family then moved to Wolseley, with Mom returning to work at Tache Nursing Centre. This was a place at which she loved working, and enjoyed it for 22 years. Retirement saw her and Dad moving to their year-round cottage in Winnipeg Beach, enjoying their golden years together until 1999 when Dad passed. Mom stayed at the Beach until 2007, moving back to Winnipeg and an apartment in River Heights. Her last move was to Villa Cabrini, where she was a social butterfly, always having a kind word, a smile, and a hug for everyone. Mom, you're now in the care of God, surrounded by your loved ones who have left before you. We were blessed to have you on this Earth and now the blessing of you is for others to enjoy in a better place. We know you'll be smiling, telling stories and giving out hugs to all. Enjoy a few rounds of Canasta with Dad. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on December 23, 2016 at Thomson "In The Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Winnipeg Harvest, 1085 Winnipeg Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0S2.
