EILEEN O'CONNELL ENGLISH Eileen O'Connell English, born December 22, 1921, in Winnipeg, Canada, she resided at John Knox Village in Pompano Beach, FL before passing away peacefully on December 16, 2016, surrounded by her friends and family. Formerly of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Short Hills, NJ, she is predeceased by her loving husband John F. English; her parents, Maurice and Margaret O'Connell and sister Peggy Casey. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Jack Casey of Pompano Beach; her sisters-in-law, Eileen English and Margaret Smith of Winnipeg, Canada and many friends and family. For more than 40 years, with a Masters in Social Work, Eileen worked tirelessly as a clinical social worker offering talk therapy to those in need at Catholic Charities in NYC and as the Director of Social Services at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Elizabeth, New Jersey. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, January 14, at 11:00 a.m., St. Henry Catholic Church, 1500 S. Andrews Ave., Pompano Beach, FL. Following the mass, a reception will be held at John Knox Village. Memorial donations in Eileen's name can be made to St. Mary's Academy, 550 Wellington Crescent, Winnipeg, MB R3M 0B9.
