GEORGE W. KAARTINEN "The Country Gentleman" Peacefully, after a tough fight, George passed away with his family by his side on December 18, 2016. He leaves behind his wife Margaret, son Michael, daughter Mavis, son-in-law Miles, granddaughters Brittany (Nahom) and Julie (Rob), and great-grandchildren Liam, Layla and Leighton. George grew up in the Scotch Bay area and was the youngest of seven boys. He was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Kaartinen, and brothers Walter, Edward, Reino, Peter, Albert and David. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the Burn Unit of the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg.
