JOSEFINA (JOSIE) T. OLEA December 8, 1949 - December 18, 2016 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Josefina (Josie) T. Olea on December 18, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 67. She passed away at St. Boniface Hospital, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in the Philippines, daughter of the late Dionisio and Leonida Miranda, before moving to Winnipeg in November 1979. She was predeceased by her siblings Dionisio Miranda and Alejandra Tibay. Leaving to mourn her passing are her husband Marcelo Olea and son Marlon; siblings Violet Napoles (Angel), Ariston Miranda (Ining); nieces and nephews Diana, Anthony, Danica, Vina, Alejandro, Flerida, Allan John, Karen, Mohra, Morena, Dionne May, Franz Joseph, Nadine Bea, Adil Jan and Giselle Marie; grandchildren Layla Leah-Mae and Zedric Grey; as well as numerous relatives and friends. Josie had an unwavering faith in God. She will be greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts. We extend our deepest thanks to the many people who cared about Josie and for sharing memories, love and support during this difficult time. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the Community Palliative Care workers that cared for Josie at home and the 8A staff at St. Boniface General Hospital. You treated her with respect and dignity and allowed her as comfortably as possible. Lamay (Viewing) will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 and Friday, December 30, 2016 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 445 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at St. Anthony of Padua, 365 Burnell St. Interment will take place after the mass at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering with family and friends will follow at Glen Lawn Reception Centre.
