JANE GEORGIANNA FULTON (nee MCCOMBER) January 29, 1937 - December 18, 2016 It is with sad and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear, beautiful mother "Janie". Janie was predeceased by her parents, Wallace and Jennie, her infant daughter Kelly Lynn, and her six siblings, Marjorie (Ruth), James (Jim), Wallace (Pat), Donald (Don), Margaret (Margie), and Marian. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Robert Alexander Fulton (Bob), her two daughters Cynthia Spencer (Ian), Sandra Debrouwere, and the lights of her life, her five grandchildren Adam, Tori, Kellie, Sydney, and Matthew who all made grandma smile with their laughter, and hugs and always a good game of cribbage! In addition to many nieces and nephews who loved Auntie Janie! Janie was the baby of the seven McComber children, including two sets of twins, born to Wallace and Jennie. A close family who shared many hours of laughter together. She grew up in Port Arthur, Ontario where she attended Kings Business College and it was there that she met her loving husband "Bob". They were married on September 19, 1957. They made the move to Winnipeg in 1966 and settled on Knox Street. It was there that they raised their daughters and made many life long friends. The annual camping trips to Blue Lake, Ontario, with the Witts, Rosaasens and McLennans which included bonfires, bears and much laughter, were some of her fondest memories. She spent hours sewing sequins, running Girl Guide events and cheering for her two daughters. She also worked as an office manager with Unies Ltd. for several years and then began a career in real estate in 1987 until retirement in 1991. Our mother's love for her family permiated every aspect of her life. She was a devoted, strong and loving wife, mother, grandmother and auntie. After suffering a stroke in 2009, Janie battled many obstacles with grace and managed to maintain her sense of humour, strength, wit and kind heart. Her Catholic practices and beliefs always gave her strength and sense of peace. We will dearly miss our mother's beautiful smile and rosy cheeks! Be at peace "Janie" the journey is only beginning! The family would like to give thanks and many hugs to the staff at Deer Lodge 5 West for their compassion, care, support and love through the hardest part of Mom's life. Thank you to the staff on Lodge 7 for their support. Special thanks to the Grace Hospital staff for helping us all in our difficult time. At her request there will be no formal service. Donations can be made in her memory to the Deer Lodge Foundation.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I was one of the lucky ones who cared for Janie, We shared many laughs, tears and stories. She was so proud of her daughters and lit up talking about them. I can still hear her giggle when she’d get off the elevator after getting her hair done cause I was whistling at her!! 😗 I think of her often and miss her. - Posted by: Stacy D (Friend) on: Oct 02, 2019
