Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryASTA BJERRING PEDERSEN 1914 2016 We are saddened to announce that Asta passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Oakview Place Personal Care Home, at the age of 102 years. Remaining to cherish Asta's memory are her daughter, Birthe (Per); grandson Mark (Rose); great-grandchildren, Ashley (Luke), Ryan (Kayleigh) and Kathleen (Ryan); as well as two sisters in Denmark, Helga and Gusti. She was predeceased by her husband, Hans; her grandson Glenn and her sister, Dorrit. In compliance with Asta's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Oakview Place for the kind way Asta was looked after. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. We had just arrived in Canada, July 1957, Asta and Hans were the first Danes to come and greet us on the farm where we were living. I was 12 years old the and still remember how important that day was to the Olesen family. - Posted by: arne olesen (friend) on: Dec 29, 2016

Birthe & Per, Sorry to hear about your mom, you had her for many years but there is never a good time to say good bye. I remember your mom as a feisty lady, she and my mom Lise were very good friends since coming to Canada. We lost contact with your mom after mine passed away, which was a shame but that happens.
