Left to mourn his passing are his family: wife Carol, children Debbie (Ryan), Cindy, Wendy, Fred (Kim), and Kerry (Jodi), stepchildren Colleen, Brenda, and Russell (Krista), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his brother Don Bailey. He was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Peter, stepfather Joseph, and brother Gene Bailey. Fred was born in Allegra, Manitoba on June 27, 1933. He attended school in the Brokenhead District. Fred then attended the Normal School in Tuxedo, Winnipeg, and taught school in the Sandilands District of Manitoba. After that he discovered teaching wasn't his calling. Fred found his true calling in lumber sales and spent 45 years as a Lumberman. Fred retired and spent his time handcrafting wooden treasures for family and friends in his workshop. Fred and Carol loved to sit on their deck feeding the birds and watching sunsets. He also loved tending his garden and loved to provide his family with fresh vegetables. Fred also had a passion for wine making and loved travelling, whether it was to Mexico or the Shooting Star Casino. Following a recent illness, Fred peacefully left this Earth to join his Heavenly Father. Vichnaya Pamyat Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 30, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Beautiful Saviour Lutheran Church, 1541 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg, MB.
