SVEINBJORN EGGERT BYRON PETERSON Eggert Peterson died peacefully on December 23, 2016, in Kingston, Ontario. Eggert was born on February 25, 1933 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Sveinbjorn Peterson and Sigridur Peterson (née Eggertson). He attended the University of Manitoba and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1954. In August, 1954, he married Donna Constance Munroe, with whom he had seven children. He left Canadian National Railway in 1966 to attend the University of Western Ontario, and received his diploma in Business Administration in 1967. He went on to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received his PhD in Management in June, 1970. Donna died in 1974, and Eggert and the family moved to Botswana where he remarried, bringing three more children into the family. He taught management at Queen's University in Kingston; the University of Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland; the University of Bahrain; and the University of Manitoba; and retired in Kingston. Eggert is survived by his children, Kristin, Lesley (Eric), Nora (Derrick), Eric, Lindsay, Graeme, Martin, Kevin, and Peo; his grandchildren, Aaron (Erin), Holly (Nick), Joanna (John), Devon (Holly), James (Heather), Hilary, Jacqueline, Michael, Lisa, Joseph, Julia, Lydia, Evan, and Skye; and his great-grandchildren Taliah, Evangeline, Ben, Lucy, Saben, Meeka, and Aria. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sveinbjorn and Sigridur; his brother, David; his wives Donna, Jean, and Ivy; and his son Ian (Angela). A funeral will be held in Winnipeg on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Margaret's Anglican Church, 160 Ethelbert Street. A reception will follow. All are welcome to attend.
