CORY DREW FRIGHT
Date of Passing: Dec 21, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCORY DREW FRIGHT It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Dad on December 21, 2016. He fought a fierce battle with cancer, and had his final wishes met by passing at home with his beloved sons by his side. He leaves behind his children, Lindsey (husband Ed, granddaughter Klara), Kyle (Kristie) and Trenton. Sister Gay Anne; brothers, Kelly (wife Leah, nephew Todd), Blair (wife Sandy, nephews Tyler and Brett) and many cousins. He is predeceased by his father, Bertrum Edward (1977), mother Lillian Eleanor (2004), brother Bradley Bertrum (2006) and niece Shea Lynne (2016). He grew up in East Kildonan and remained in the area to raise his children who were his pride and joy. He felt that if he could raise them to be kind, caring, strong individuals, he would have accomplished everything he ever wanted. His children turned out just as he had hoped. Cory loved his children deeply and was determined to provide the best life for them he could. He was a caring, compassionate man and like the famous Frank Sinatra song, he believed in doing things "My Way." Cory worked at Winnipeg Transit for over 20 years. He was a hard working man with a good sense of humour and an infectious laugh. At Cory's request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Cory's life is planned for Saturday, January 7, 1:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street. In lieu of flowers, if family or friends so desire, donations in memory of Cory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Went to elementary and junior high with Cory. We grew up together on the same street, just a few houses away and used to play together often as kids. What great memories. Lost touch after high school, but did run into him now and again and always had a good laugh about the old days. My deepest sympathies to the family. Rest in Peace old friend. Till we meet again.
